Geoff acts as general counsel to his clients by guiding them through the various business law issues they face, taking a practical and client-focused approach. He often works in concert with lawyers in various practice groups to ensure client objectives are met.

He has litigated a wide variety of business disputes, including shareholder conflicts, contractual claims, franchise matters, product liability, occupiers’ liability, professional liability, real estate, expropriation, regulatory issues, and election law. He completed the Osgoode Certificate in Blockchain Law in 2022.

Geoff acts for a diverse range of clients, including major international companies, insurers, franchisors, medium-sized businesses, and individuals. He frequently represents property owners facing expropriation and works in concert with valuation experts to secure appropriate compensation from governmental authorities.  He is Preferred Counsel to the Lawyers’ Professional Indemnity Company.

Geoff is a hands-on, solutions-focused lawyer who seeks to ensure positive client experiences. He understands that clients’ legal problems are ultimately business problems in need of resolution. Accordingly, when litigating, he takes a practical and strategic approach to dispute resolution that is focused on achieving resolution, where possible, while aiming to minimize disruption and expense.

Geoff won the Ontario Progressive Conservative nomination for the high-profile riding of Mississauga South for the 2011 Ontario general election. He has been actively involved in the political process for over 25 years, and frequently brings his strategic communication skills to bear on issues facing clients. He has adeptly handled several high-profile matters and has been referenced in the Globe and Mail, National Post, Toronto Star, CBC, and Global News, in this regard.
