Begüm Yavuzdoğan Okumuş has been with the firm since 2007 and is now a managing associate. Her practice focuses on corporate and M&A, competition and technology, media and telecom (TMT).

Begüm has led several M&A projects and assisted local and foreign companies during the incorporation of joint-ventures. She has drafted and negotiated joint-venture and shareholder agreements, and share pledge and voting agreements and carried out due diligence reviews. She also drafted corporate restructuring, distributorship, purchase, retail and financing agreements.

She has significant experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors. She advised and represented several multinational pharmaceutical and medical device companies on their projects in Turkey and her experiences in these industries include license and asset transfers, corporate restructuring projects, negotiating distributorship agreements and termination of agreements.

Begüm focuses her TMT practice on data protection and she advises multinational companies and businesses operating in the pharmaceutical, medical device, retail and automotive sectors industry on compliance with the Turkish Law on the Protection of Personal Data. She holds Certified Information Privacy Professional Europe (CIPP/E) designation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
