Alfonso Barón, founding partner of Barón Abogados, joins Ventura Garcés & López-Ibor as a partner at the firm’s Madrid office, together with tax specialist Nuño Alarcón.
Barón Abogados has been integrated into Ventura Garcés & López-Ibor, with the aim of further strengthening the Corporate and Tax Departments at the firm’s Madrid office.
Alfonso Barón, well-known for his work in the areas of M&A and corporate law, joins the Madrid office of Ventura Garcés & López-Ibor, together with his team from Barón Abogados, including Nuño Alarcón, a tax specialist who originally worked at KPMG. Alfonso Barón was formerly a partner at Garrigues, eventually leaving to establish his own firm (Barón Abogados), which has now become part of Ventura Garcés & López-Ibor. In Alfonso Barón’s own words, this operation “will result in a firm and a team with acknowledged prestige in the areas of Corporate Law and M&A, increasing our capacity to provide advice and service to our clients and allowing us to take on important operations and cases, both in Spain and internationally”.
According to Alfonso López-Ibor, partner at Ventura Garcés & López-Ibor, the integration of Barón Abogados into Ventura Garcés & López-Ibor “will contribute to the further development of our business in priority areas such as corporate law, which will grow as the country comes out of recession, and at the same time strengthen the firm’s tax department, an area that is becoming increasingly important”.
