MIAMI — Jorge A. Mestre has been re-appointed by the ABA President to serve on the American Bar Association Commission on Hispanic Legal Rights and Responsibilities. The commission works to develop initiatives, support research, and educate lawyers on serving and addressing the key legal challenges facing the Latino community in the United States.
Jorge recently discussed the Commission’s “Latinos in the United States: Overcoming Legal Obstacles, Engaging in Civic Life” report at the ABA’s Annual Meeting in Chicago. He and his fellow panelists urged legal professionals to work together for equal opportunity and address the challenges faced by the growing Hispanic community. The updated report reveals that, despite Hispanics constituting nearly 20% of the U.S. population, they represent just 6% of the legal profession.
Jorge A. Mestre engages exclusively in commercial litigation practice and is Board Certified in International Litigation and Arbitration by The Florida Bar. He has litigated domestic and international arbitration matters in both English and Spanish.
