"I am extremely pleased that the Association is founded by major Czech law firms, market leaders in many legal areas. I am convinced that a joint project of this sort will be beneficial not only for the entire legal profession, but also for our clients and the general public," notes Adam Felix, member of the executive board of the Lawyers' Association for AI.
The founding documents of the Association were signed on the 16th of July 2024 at the Municipal House in Prague by:
- Filip Drnec of the Portos law firm,
- Jakub Dohnal of the Arrows law firm,
- Adam Felix of Felix a spol., and
- Jiří Novák of Sokol, Novák Trojan, Doleček and Partners law firm.
"We perceive AI as another piece in the patchwork of already existing technologies that have become a common part of our everyday practice, but most attorneys do not yet realize this in full," says Filip Drnec of Portos and chairman of the executive board of the Lawyers' Association for AI.
All four founding law firms want to jointly help create the right conditions for innovation and modernisation of law and legal professions, not only in the Czech Republic, but also in the European context.
The aim is, among other things, to define the responsible use of technology in legal professions by, for example, proper interpretation and implementation of the current European regulations on AI and related legislation.
