Bell Nunnally Managing Partner Christopher B. Trowbridge and Senior Associate J. Reid Burley recently represented Ying International Trade, LLC in a litigation matter against USA Top Resources Corporation. Ying International Trade is a woman-owned international distribution and logistics company which imports and distributes Chinese manufactured products to Amazon distribution centers. The companies operated neighboring warehouses in North Dallas and, in 2021, Ying International Trade, after contracting with USA Top Resources Corporation, experienced delays it attributed to that company’s work. Due to these delays, Ying International Trade suffered monetary damages passed on to it from upset customers. Ying International Trade then sued USA Top Resources Corporation for breach of contract in Collin County District Court. Burley first chaired the trial, questioned all witnesses and presented the evidence to the jury. A jury deliberated for 3.5 hours before finding in favor of Bell Nunnally client Ying International Trade, awarding the full damages sought, plus attorneys’ fees – resulting in a total verdict amount of more than six figures. “Reid did a superb job presenting our client’s case to the Collin County jury,” said Trowbridge. “This is an example of the immense talent at our firm, the trial opportunities afforded them early in their career and the type of results we are often able to achieve for our clients.”
