Bell Nunnally, led by Partner Ray A. Balestri, represented Irving, Tex.-based Plastronics Sockets & Connectors (Plastronic) in its January sale to U.K.-based Smiths Group plc. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Plastronics, founded in 1969, is a major supplier of burn-in test sockets and patented spring probe contacts for the semiconductor test market segment, as well as custom connectors for industrial applications. The company has facilities in the U.S. in Irving and Grand Prairie, Tex., and abroad in Japan and Singapore.
Smiths, in a press release announcing the deal, noted, “The acquisition brings growth opportunities for both semiconductor test and connectors. It also provides cross selling opportunities in both Asia and the US by leveraging the combined sales and manufacturing footprint of the companies.” Smiths Interconnect President Julian Fagge added: “I am delighted to welcome Plastronics to the Smiths Interconnect family of technology brands.”
