Managing Partner, Tony Britten-Jones commented on the announcement:
“The various areas in which the firm has been recognised align with the strategic plan to focus on providing bespoke services in a select range of niche areas and move away from more commoditised areas of law. It is pleasing to see this success as it continues to strengthen the firm’s foundation in an ever changing and challenging environment.”
In addition to our 52 recognised lawyers, 14 Piper Alderman special counsel and senior associates from across the firm have been recognised in the newly created category ‘Ones to Watch’. Awarded to lawyers who are earlier in their careers, The Best Lawyers ‘One’s To Watch’ acknowledges outstanding professional excellence.
The firm has been recognised across a total of 45 areas of law in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
Mr Britten-Jones further commented on the future of the firm and the hardworking people that will hold the firm in good stead:
“We are delighted about where we are now and the prospects of the firm. We have a team of extremely talented, hardworking and dedicated individuals who are constantly achieving for our clients. This is a great acknowledgment for those individuals named, the teams supporting them and an indication that, as a firm, we are continuingly improving and excelling.”
The firm is excited to announce that Melbourne principal in the Employment Relations team, Chris Hartigan has been named ‘Lawyer of the Year’ for Education Law in Melbourne.
Chris Hartigan stated:
“I am thrilled and humbled to be recognised by my peers in the profession for the Education Law ‘Lawyer of the Year’ award. It’s a great honour to receive such an award for doing what I enjoy – advising on interesting and complex matters for clients. Education is a major industry in Victoria and international education has been Victoria’s largest service export industry for over a decade. In 2020 that component alone was valued at $10.5 billion. Education as a sector has been presented with many challenges in coming to terms with the impact of COVID including how to deliver courses safely and also the closure of our borders to overseas students. I must also commend my team whose commitment to providing the best service to our clients and solving complex problems in a timely and effective manner has made this award possible.”
Of the 52 recognised lawyers, the following lawyers have made their debut in the 2023 edition:
